Real Estate
And the country pauses to await the political outcome of November.  I believe we will be into the spring of '09 before we see any significant movement in the local real estate market.  Although some Buyers are taking advantage of today's prices, and because of that, some properties are selling, the market is almost at a standstill.  If you listen closely enough you can hear the collective breath being held until after the elections.  And then after the elections, to see which way the pendulum is going to swing.  I believe that both parties would like to see the national economy recover, the question is, what will be done to affect the change.  We will see.

If you went straight to this webpage, I would ask that you visit www.danakohut.com. There you will see what I am up to during the lull in the Real Estate Market.  My Real Estate clients are my first priority, but I like to keep busy.

If you are thinking of doing a little Real Estate Investing or know of someone who is interested, please give me a call.  I am always happy to help.

Working Road Trip

Victoria, BC Canada

One of the advantages of a life in Real Estate is that Real Estate exists everywhere. By putting a little work into my trips, I can write-off a lot.  Since I like to work, this is easy for me.  I hope you enjoy the pictures and if you decide that you might be looking for a second home or are thinking of relocation outside of the United States, I would be happy to help.

Note: I have an unusually good knowledge of technology.  With it, I can provide great service to my clients from almost anywhere in the world.  I don't travel to areas where my phone and the internet are not supported.  It is a compromise, but I have great clients, and they are well worth it.
The significance of this picture should be obvious to anyone who has missed a ferry departure by 5 minutes.
People from all over the world love Harleys.  This gentleman is from Malaysia.  It was my pleasure to make his day and let him get his picture taken sitting on my bike.
It was a family affair.  There was a full van and they each took their turn. They were very nice people.
The wake from the ferry on the way over to Schwartz Bay.  It reminded me of all the times I used to stand on the stern of the USS Milwaukee during my years in the Navy.
The best way to travel the ferry system is by motorcycle.  Motorcycles are always first on and first off, plus you get to go to the front of the line.
BC Ferries are great!
Victoria Harbor.
The Empress Hotel on Victoria Harbor. No better place to stay and they are always running some kind of special in the off season.
Harbor seals at the wharf in Victoria.  You can purchase sardines and feed them by hand.  They love it and you will love it.  I dropped by the wharf after viewing condos in Victoria and meeting with Suzy Hahn (great Realtor).
The Wharf.
The Victoria waterfront.  Vendors, street performers, people watching . . .  It has it all.
Victoria Waterfront.
The ferry ride home. This picture doesn't do justice to how pretty the mountain was.  I closed up my computer and came immediate over to the other side of the ferry just to get this picture.
O.K. this is from July, but can you really blame me for showing off my daughter and my grand children?  Maia, Christina, Noah, and Riley.
That was my workspace on the ferry ride home.  I had web development to get done.  Funny thing, the picture was taken by the same Malaysian people who I ran into on the way over.  Great people!
I was envious of the lucky sailors who were out there enjoying the beautiful sailing weather.
It was a gorgeous day in the islands!
The BC ferry system is just a great way to travel.  I'm hoping that some day the Washington ferry system catches on and learns from a great example.
Always good to know where the life boats are.  Just kidding.  I would rather swim to one of the islands (During the summer. Winter water temperatures can be a little unfriendly.).
I hope you enjoyed this little picture tour of my working road trip to Victoria B.C.  I had the pleasure of meeting a lot of very friendly people.  Visit Canada when you get a chance.  We are so close.  The border crossing on the way over was 5 minutes.  About 45 minutes trying to get back into the country.

Until next time.  Enjoy your life!  It is a wonderful gift!
